What
A half day workshop broken down into three sessions:
- Supported Volunteering Landscape - considering the present state of supported volunteering in the UK and the challenges that organisations & projects face in developing SV initiatives
- Building a Project - explore the elements & tools that can help you build a productive SV programme
- Knowledge Exchange - sharing thoughts & experience of what it takes to identify and implement solutions to barriers to volunteering
Delegates will come away with
- a broader understanding of the range of supported activities being undertaken across the UK
- signposting for existing resources for developing their SV projects and a chance to suggest new tools
- an introduction to the potential of the chances4volunteering.org website as a resource and community of like-minded individuals and organisations.
Who Should Attend
Any volunteer-engaging organisation looking to start a new supported volunteering initiative or to improve an existing one. No level of experience is to little or great!
When / Where
29 July 2009 - Meeting will be hosted at Holiday Inn Express, Mills Street, Slough SL2 5DD.
Registration and Tea/Coffee will be served at 0900 for a 0930 start. A buffet lunch will be served and attendees will be welcome to continue the day's discussions in an informal format after the 1300 close of the workshop.
